Sanders, Smith & Stokes book printing and publicity focuses on your book’s needs. We have over 15 years’ experience designing, publishing, promoting, and distributing books. We made the transition to facilitators because so many relevant and important artists, poets and authors are left out of the conversation because of money, race, nepotism, connections, education, class, and or geography. Great books should never be denied an audience. If we work with you then we are invested in you. We want you to succeed because it’s a win-win. Our team will bring your concept and vision to fruition and find an audience for your book.

Book Printing & Publicity 101
Concept: An idea that has been evolved to the point where a narrative becomes possible. A concept becomes a platform, a stage, upon which a visual narrative may unfold. A concept, it could be said—and it should be viewed this way—is something that asks a question.
Pre-Production: Is the publishing plan where decisions are made in regard to print run, format, production budget, images, design concept, graphic designer, copy editor, releases, curatorial, and content review before production starts.
Production: Book production is the process required to turn a raw manuscript into a final printed product or ebook. Book production at its most basic includes editing, design, formatting, printing and ebook conversion. Book production is an essential part of professional publishing.
Logistics and Fulfillment: Is the process of planning and executing the efficient transportation and storage of goods from the point of origin to the point of consumption. The goal of logistics is to meet customer requirements in a timely, cost-effective manner.
Marketing: A focus on increasing the awareness of your book and getting it in front of potential customers.
Promotions: The final step of marketing – they provide the needed incentive to turn visitors into buyers. All in all, marketing vs promotion is about awareness vs conversion.
Distribution: Traditional Publishing
Book distribution makes books available through retailers (both physical stores and online). It includes finding a publisher, printing books, warehousing them, and then distributing them to retailers who will make them available for sale. It's a complex process that requires coordination between many different parties.
Distribution: Self-Publishing
Self-publishing is when an author publishes their work without a traditional book publisher. This allows the author to retain control of all creative decisions, publishing costs, and royalty profits. This method has been around for centuries, recently evolving into a multi-billion dollar industry.
Distribution: Hybrid Publishing
Hybrid publishing is a publishing model that combines elements of traditional and self-publishing. In most aspects, a hybrid publisher functions just like a traditional publisher, with the important difference that authors subsidize most or all of the cost of publishing and are not given an advance on royalties.
